Young Hearts Present Pippin as a Fundraiser Against Blood Cancer

By Laura & Mike Clark • Feb 10th, 2008 • Category: News |

The Young Hearts are producing the musical Pippin as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Young Hearts was created after Ryan McLaughlin died in December 1999 at the age of 13, from t-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an uncommon form of leukemia. Since then his family and friends have raised money to be used in the fight against leukemia in many different ways. The full story of this amazing group is available on the Young Hearts web site.

Pippin will be performed this weekend (student-directed, student-run, student-performed), Friday, February 15 at 7:30 PM, Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 PM and closing at 7:30 PM, at the Robert Frost Middle School, 4101 Pickett Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. Tickets are available at the door, or through the Light the Night web site. Tickets are $15 ($10 for seniors or students), with donations about the ticket price encouraged.

Laura & Mike Clark: started ShowBizRadio in August 2005 because they love live theater. We are both working towards a Theater certificate from Northern Virginia Community College. They are on the crew with NWTG's The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), opening July 11th.
